Walter Sisulu University is a multi-campus, comprehensive University, with its seat at its Nelson Mandela Drive campus in Mthatha. The University has four campuses in Mthatha, Butterworth, Buffalo City and Queenstown, which are headed by Campus Rectors. Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Psychology
- Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa as Counselling / Clinical Psychologist
- 10 years teaching experience at a tertiary institution
- Relevant academic management experience coupled with a proven track record in teaching, research and community engagement;
- High academic and professional standing in the field of expertise, and high academic credibility amongst peers;
- Evidence of recent conference papers (must include both local and international conferences), peer reviewed publications (a minimum of 10 published articles for Associate Professor and 15 published articles for Professor)
- Evidence of postgraduate supervision
- Strategic planning and implementation experience;
- Has the ability to mobilize and inspire others towards shared goals;
- Knowledge of and implementation of quality assurance;
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office suite).

- Teaching of Undergraduate and Postgraduate students
- Research, postgraduate supervision and mentoring students within a rural setting
- Overall Strategy development and execution
- Academic and administrative leadership within the relevant Department
- Leadership in Curriculum/ programme development and quality assurance

- Leadership in Academic administration, resource allocation, workload management
- Leadership in Community engagement, partnerships and collaboration
