Prof Bongani Bantwini
Prof Bongani D Bantwini is the Executive Dean for the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education at the University of Venda, Limpopo Province. He holds a PhD and Master’s in Science Education both from the University of Illinois, Champaign Urbana USA, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. Prof. Bantwini has over 20 years of working experience in the education field and has taught for various universities both in the USA (University of Illinois, University of Northern Iowa & Kennesaw State University); SA (University of Port Elizabeth -NMU; North West University; Walter Sisulu etc.); worked for the Human Science research Council and SA and has also taught at various levels, primary, secondary and high school. Additional to his experiences, he has worked for a non-governmental organization (NGO) in the capacity of a teacher trainer and collaborated with several others. He also worked as an Independent Consultant conducting teacher trainings in South Africa and USA and providing team leadership.
He has conducted several large-scale research and evaluation studies and wrote successful grant proposals. He has generated several client reports and has worked closely with SA government policy makers participating in decision making process. Most of his research work has been presented in local, national, and international conferences. He has several single and co-authored publications in national and international refereed journals and continues to contribute to his field. He serves as a reviewer for various blind peer review national and international journals, reviews for conferences and serves in several professional organizations. He serves as a reviewer in several NRF grant proposals. He also serves as a Ph.D. and Masters degree External Examiner for various universities in South Africa. As part of ongoing scholarship, he also serves in editorial journal boards.
