Prof Zethu Nkosi, is currently the Executive Dean of the College of Human Sciences at UNISA. She obtained her PhD degree from UKZN in 2010 and later joined UNISA as an Associate Professor in February 2011. Her teaching experience started in the United Arab Emirates as a lecturer in the School of Nursing, later taking the role of a Coordinator of Nursing Management at UKZN . She was inaugurated to Full Professorship in 2014 and has not stopped to reach for the skies. She has supervised more than 50 students to completion, i.e. 21 Doctoral students and 35 MA students from South Africa , Ethiopia, Zimbabwe , Botswana , Rwanda and Uganda. Her international exposure includes presenting in more than 25 countries globally, being an exchange lecturer in Hochschule Bremen ( Germany) and the Joanna Briggs Institute in Adelaide (Australia).
Prof Nkosi is passionate about student support and mentorship. She initiated three projects which has yielded positive results.
Student Retention Unit (SRU) which is responsible for retention of students to reduce the dropout rates HONOURS GYOT responsible for mentoring honours students to success CHS Disability Unit which focuses on inclusivity. Prof Nkosi is the member of World Health Organisation Collaboration Centre, ICN AFRO working group and is a board member for HSRC.
